Enterprise Asset Management Software

An asset record should help your team care for equipment throughout its working life. Bring identification, maintenance activity and relevant device information into a usable view, with history that follows the equipment when its location changes.

Discuss your project

Build consistent equipment and asset records

Agree how assets are identified, grouped and assigned to locations. Record the details needed for everyday work, such as model, installation date and service documents. Replacement parts and moved equipment need history so a label or device identifier does not silently point to the wrong unit.

Connect inspections with follow-up work

Translate agreed inspection and maintenance procedures into tasks with owners and due dates. Findings should support notes, evidence and the next action where required. Completing a checklist and resolving a defect are different events; the workflow should preserve that distinction for supervisors reviewing outstanding work.

Add sensor information with context

Where equipment exposes usable readings, connect them to the correct asset and show when they were received. Device alerts can support investigation but should not automatically change maintenance decisions without approved rules. Test unavailable devices, duplicate identities and transferred equipment before wider use.

Project deliverables

  • Asset hierarchy and identity rules
  • Inspection and maintenance task flows
  • Equipment history and document views
  • Optional device integration and validation plan

Service questions and answers

What makes an asset record more useful than a spreadsheet?

It should connect equipment identity with location, service history, documents and outstanding work. Useful relationships and follow-up matter more than a longer field list. Start with the questions staff need to answer during an inspection, repair or equipment replacement.

Can maintenance records include live device information?

Where approved interfaces exist, readings can be linked to the correct asset. Device identity must stay accurate after replacement or relocation. Visible timestamps and missing-data states help users judge the evidence instead of mistaking an old reading for a current observation.

Should a completed inspection close every associated defect?

No. An inspection can be finished while an issue still needs action. Model those states separately and assign responsibility for follow-up. Reports should preserve the distinction so completing a checklist does not imply the equipment has no unresolved work or concerns.

What happens when equipment moves or is replaced?

History should follow a stable asset identity, while location and component changes remain recorded events. A replacement device may need a new relationship instead of an overwritten identifier. Test transitions to avoid attaching earlier readings or tasks to the wrong equipment.
