Cybersecurity Assessment & Improvement
Security work should begin with permission, a defined scope and an understanding of what needs protection. Findings are useful when the owner can understand the risk and take a practical next step.
Discuss your projectIdentify systems, access and security exposure
An assessment starts with the systems and information included, along with the people allowed to approve the work. We would review access paths, sensitive records and important dependencies. Existing controls are examined in their operating context. The goal is to understand plausible problems and responsibilities, rather than generate a long list of generic warnings.
Assess agreed controls without expanding the boundary
Authorized review may cover account permissions, application checks or configuration, depending on the agreed expertise and scope. Activities, timing and evidence handling are established before testing. Production changes and disruptive checks require their own approval. Third-party systems are excluded unless their owners have explicitly permitted the relevant work, even when they connect to the customer.
Prioritise fixes and verify the intended change
A finding should explain the affected asset, supporting evidence and possible consequence. Recommendations account for the environment and the owner's ability to implement them. Remediation is tracked and retested within scope. Remaining risks and ownership are recorded clearly. An assessment is a view at a point in time, not a promise that a system cannot be compromised.
Project deliverables
- Authorized assessment scope and asset list
- Evidence-based security findings
- Prioritized remediation recommendations
- Retest record and residual-risk notes
Service questions and answers
What must be agreed before a security assessment starts?
Identify the asset owner, written authorization, systems in scope and permitted activities. Agree timing, emergency contacts and the handling of sensitive evidence. A customer relationship or public URL does not permit testing unrelated systems. The team must also confirm the specialist skills needed for the particular assessment before accepting the work.

How should security findings be prioritised?
Assess the affected information or service, the conditions required and the evidence supporting the issue. A severity label is useful only with context. Recommendations should identify a responsible owner and a feasible corrective action, separating urgent exposure from longer-term improvements without treating every tool warning as a confirmed vulnerability.

Can a review cover external suppliers and shared systems?
Only within the permissions and scope agreed with the relevant owners. A connected supplier may hold records or operate infrastructure the customer cannot authorise testing. The assessment can identify those dependencies and request suitable evidence or coordination, rather than extending activity into systems without a clear right to do so.

What happens after the recommended fixes are made?
Verify the agreed corrections and check whether related functions still work as intended. Record residual issues, limitations and the owner of ongoing controls. Security also depends on future changes, access decisions and operations, so a completed assessment should not be presented as a permanent guarantee that the system cannot be compromised.
