Some applications need steady capacity; others have short bursts or background jobs. The design records dependencies and assumptions, including which services would need review if demand changes, rather than presenting one configuration as suitable for every workload. ## Make releases repeatable Development and production need clear boundaries. We plan configuration, secrets and service permissions alongside the build process. Release checks cover the application and its dependencies, with a defined way to investigate failed changes. Where rollback is supported, its steps are documented and rehearsed against realistic conditions. ## Prepare for ordinary operating problems Useful logs and alerts help a team distinguish an application error from a data or access issue. We agree what needs monitoring, who responds and how recovery is checked. We agree who owns the account, receives alerts, approves releases and handles incidents. The handover explains the deployed resources and routine recovery steps. Ongoing support hours, response arrangements and maintenance work are separate scope decisions, so an initial cloud setup should not be read as an unlimited operating service. Begin with the expected requests, background jobs, stored data and traffic rather than a fixed list of services. We identify the main cost drivers and what should be measured after release. Spending alerts help with oversight, but they do not necessarily stop charges; resource limits and account controls need separate decisions. A backup setting alone does not show that an application can be restored correctly. The plan should cover the data, configuration and dependencies needed to run it, then test an agreed recovery scenario.
